Warhammers are a type of Weapon in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Warhammers belong to the Two-Handed weapon class, with their effectiveness in combat governed by the Two-Handed Skill and Perk trees. Two-Handed weapons require the use of both hands, removing your ability to dual wield or use Shields or Spells at the same time. Warhammers are the slowest-swinging among all weapons and require the most Stamina per swing. However, they make up for this with powerful, crushing attacks that have the highest damage potential. Warhammers also benefit from an exclusive perk - Skull Crusher, which allows their attacks to ignore armor.

The Best Warhammers in Skyrim
The following is a short list of some of the best Warhammers in Skyrim:
- Volendrung - A Daedric Artifact that sports a high base damage, as well as the ability to absorb Stamina from opponents, allowing the wielder to perform power attacks over and over within a short amount of time. It also has a faster swing-speed that rivals those of Greatswords.
- Dawnguard Rune Hammer - Has a unique enchantment that places a fire rune on a nearby surface when bashing with the hammer. This rune explodes for 50 fire damage when enemies touch it, giving way to some interesting playstyles on top of the huge damage dealt.
- The Longhammer - Has an enchantment that grants it 30% faster swing speed, a significant advantage over all other Warhammers while still retaining the weapon type's high damage potential.
