Skyrim Anniversary edition in Skyrim celebrates the 10 year anniversary of Skyrim's initial release back in 2011. The anniversary edition released on November 11, 2021 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation4 and PlayStation5. Players can either buy the entire anniversary edition for full price or buy an upgrade to the Special edition at a lower price of $19.99 USD.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition Overview
The Anniversary Edition release comes with Creation Club content being made entirely available to owners of the new edition as well as graphics and performance updates to 5th generation console owners. Creation Club content are exclusive contents developed by Bethesda and exclusive third party developers to add on to the game officially, players can unlock them in game using premium currency. The Creation Club's over 500 unique creations are being released into the hands of players featuring new quests, locations, weapons, armor, homes and more; there are even new world interactions like fishing and horse taming.
Some Creation Club content are also being made free to Special edition owners during this release. These include Fishing, Survival mode, Rare Curios and Saints & Seducers. The last one being a whole set of new quests in game for players to explore. Players can very well treat the Anniversary edition as a DLC for Skyrim Special edition with the amount of content the creation club introduces.
For players upgrading from the Special edition, Player Achievements/Trophies will carry over except for those moving from PlayStation4 to PlayStation5.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition Features
- 4K graphics at 60FPS: The PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X and Series S users get a free 5th gen upgrade to their games, optimizing and enhancing graphics. This upgrade supports 4k graphics and 60FPS performance.
- Free Creation Club content: For players that do not buy the Anniversary edition, Some Creation club content is still provided free to Special edition owners.
- Full suite of Creation Club content: The entire collection of Creation Club content will be made available to owners of the Anniversary Edition. Complete with full length quests, and even new interactions such as horse taming giving players hours of content to explore.
