Warrior Skills is one of the three major skill groups in Skyrim. There are three offensive skill trees, two defensive skill trees each focusing on a different set of equipment that players can use and a crafting skill tree. One-handed, Two-handed, and Archery are dedicated to enabling and supporting physical melee and ranged attacks with weapons while Block and Heavy Armor are defensive skill trees focused on Shields and Heavy Armors. Smithing allows players to make and improve weapons and armor to help players deal and take more damage.

What is the best weapon class in Skyrim

The weapon classes in Skyrim are well balanced, each class has its own pros and cons. Players can pick what they want to use based on their own preferences. Each weapon class has unique features and unique perks that provide players with different benefits in combat.

One-handed weapons have the fastest attacks and can be used with a shield or while casting a spell while Two-handed weapons have greater damage and reach to deal with groups of enemies and even have a perk that gives a chance to decapitate your enemies. One and Two-handed weapons have many similar perks that assist in combat so players can choose between the 2 weapon classes and still have access to the same combat bonuses such as the armor penetration afforded to axes.

Archery helps players who use bows or crossbows to dispatch their foes from afar, with additional perks to aim better and shoot faster. Even shields come with offensive perks that improve bash damage and capabilities.

Tips for Players new to Skyrim

  • Focus perk points on your main skill - Keeping to one skill grants more powerful bonuses quickly
  • Focus on fewer skills to quickly level them up and unlock deeper into the perk trees for greater bonuses quickly
  • Stamina regenerates slower in combat but regular attacks can still be made with 0 Stamina
  • Dual-wield weapons is supported in the One-handed skill
  • The attack speed of the two weapon attack while dual-wielding is based on the weapon in the left hand, equip your faster weapon such as daggers and swords on your left
