Staff of Magelight is a Staff in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Staves are special weapons imbued with various Enchantments, allowing wielders to cast Spells without using Magicka. Instead, Staves use up their enchantment charges with every use but can be recharged with the use of Soul Gems. Staff of Magelight's effects are governed by the Alteration school of Magic and its charge usage can be reduced by leveling up the Alteration skill. Combined with the Fortify Alteration enchantment applied to Armor, it is feasible to reach 100% charge reduction on this weapon.

This Staff's enchantment is similar to the Alteration spell Magelight. It sends a small orb of light that travels towards the aiming reticle. Once it collides with a surface or character, it floats and illuminates the area for the duration of the spell. In the case of NPCs and opponents, it will follow the targeted character around for the duration.
The amount of Charge consumed by this Staff's usage can be reduced by leveling up the Alteration school of magic.
How to obtain the Staff of Magelight in Skyrim
Staff of Magelight can be obtained as follows:
- Reward for the completion of the quest "Under Saarthal"
- Found on a shelf in Drevis Neloren's room in the College of Winterhold (Hall of Countenance).
- Found in a flower pot in the Jarl's throneroom at the Blue Palace in Solitude. (Considered stolen unless the Dragonborn completes Sybille Stentor's requiest to kill a vampire leader)
- Found in Shalidor's Maze in Labyrinthian, Hjaalmarch.
