Skull of Corruption is one of the Daedric Artifacts in The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimDaedric Artifacts are special, powerful items created by the Daedric Princes and given to mortals in exchange for their services or for completing favors. Each artifact is attributed to a specific Prince and is imbued with their power, providing unique combat and magical benefits to their users. Daedric Artifacts fall under three categories: WeaponsApparel and Other Items. In order to obtain these artifacts, the Dragonborn must undertake special Daedric Quests and gain the favor of the associated Daedric Prince.

Skull of Corruption is a Daedric Artifact attributed to Daedric Prince Vaermina.

It is a Staff with a long, segmented handle adorned with a stylized skull with horns at the top. It has a spiky metal base.

 

Skull of Corruption Daedric Artifact Effect Details in Skyrim

Skull of Corruption has the following special effect(s):

"20 points damage, increases to 50 if powered with dreams collected from sleeping people."

  • The Skull of Corruption deals a base damage of 20 points when uncharged but deals 50 damage when powered with dreams.
  • In order to collect dreams, simply cast the staff on sleeping persons. This is not considered a hostile act and will not harm a sleeping NPC.
  • This Dreamsteal ability stores 5 dreams per valid target and the staff expends 1 dream charge per cast on targets that are awake.
  • Harvesting the dreams of a character will grant them the Dreamsteal debuff for 12 hours. This will prevent them from being affected by Dreamsteal again until the debuff wears off.
  • Some good spots for harvesting dreams include burial grounds where several sleeping Draugr line he walls, Inns, Haelga's Bunkhouse in Riften, as well as the College of Winterhold.
  • This enchantment requires charging with Soul Gems.

 

How to obtain the Skull of Corruption Daedric Artifact in Skyrim

Skull of Corruption can be obtained as follows:

  • Complete the quest "Waking Nightmare".  This quest is available when you reach Dawnstar.
  • Important: You must choose to kill Erandur in order to obtain the Skull of Corruption. Otherwise, he will destroy the skull.
