Skeleton Key is one of the Daedric Artifacts in The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimDaedric Artifacts are special, powerful items created by the Daedric Princes and given to mortals in exchange for their services or for completing favors. Each artifact is attributed to a specific Prince and is imbued with their power, providing unique combat and magical benefits to their users. Daedric Artifacts fall under three categories: WeaponsApparel and Other Items. In order to obtain these artifacts, the Dragonborn must undertake special Daedric Quests and gain the favor of the associated Daedric Prince.

Skeleton Key is a Daedric Artifact attributed to Daedric Prince Nocturnal.

It is a special key that looks almost like a dagger, with a heavily rusted "blade" with many bits of various shapes. It also has a handle beset with an aqua/black jewel or pommel.

  • The Skeleton Key is an indinitely reusable, unbreakable Lockpick that can be used to unlock anything.
  • Very useful until the player unlocks the Unbreakable perk, after which it should be surrendered if you wish to continue with the Thieves' Guild questline.

 

 

How to obtain the Skeleton Key Daedric Artifact in Skyrim

Skeleton Key can be obtained as follows:

 

  • Complete the Thieves' Guild quest "Blindsighted".
  • Note that the key will be in your posession indefinitely, unless you surrender it to the Twilight Sepulcher, which is a requirement for progressing the "Darkness Returns" quest. You must surrender the key if you wish to continue the Thieves' Guild questline.
