Mace of Molag Bal is one of the Daedric Artifacts in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Daedric Artifacts are special, powerful items created by the Daedric Princes and given to mortals in exchange for their services or for completing favors. Each artifact is attributed to a specific Prince and is imbued with their power, providing unique combat and magical benefits to their users. Daedric Artifacts fall under three categories: Weapons, Apparel and Other Items. In order to obtain these artifacts, the Dragonborn must undertake special Daedric Quests and gain the favor of the associated Daedric Prince.

Mace of Molag Bal is a Daedric Artifact attributed to Daedric Prince Molag Bal.
It is a One-Handed weapon of the Mace class. It has an imposing appearance, with pointed edges all around, as well as an adornment depicting a demonic creature.
The Mace is a fairly large weapon, taking up a large portion of the screen and may become obstructive in first person view.

Mace of Molag Bal has the following special effect(s):
"Does 25 points of Stamina damage. Does 25 points of Magicka damage. If target dies within 3 seconds, fills a soul gem."
- The Mace of Molag Bal drains targets of 25 points of Stamina and Magicka with every hit.
- It also casts Soul Trap on the target for three seconds, allowing you to absorb their soul into a Soul Gem upon defeat. This makes it a great pairing for the Azura's Star or The Black Star artifacts.
- Enchantments on this weapon are affected by the Destruction school of Perks.

- Complete the quest "The House of Horrors". This quest can be started by entering the Abandoned House in Markarth.

The Mace of Molag Bal can be tempered with an Ebony Ingot and the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
Note that it is not classified as an Ebony Weapon and therefore does not benefit from any Smithing perks. The weapon cannot be improved past Flawless quality without boosting your Smithing skill past 100.
