Breton is a playable Race in Skyrim. Bretons are the human descendants of the Aldmeri-Nedic Manmer who are now living mainly in the province of High Rock. Many of the Bretons are capable mages as they are considered an intelligent race. Bretons are particularly skilled in Conjuration in Skyrim. Being resistant to magic, makes them exceptionally effective against magics, great for any type of combat style.

Skyrim Breton Combat Information
Bretons are one of the strongest races to play due to their innate magic resistance. Magic resistance is a difficult stat to find and build for that benefits players greatly when dealing with hostile magic abilities. The magic resistance will be a great help to players of any playstyle or build, close combat fighters, long range attackers or even stealth players will always have a need to reduce damage from magic spells. Breton's Dragonskin power is very useful in battles against mages, mitigating large amounts of magic damage for the player during the duration while also giving the player a source of Magicka to cast more spells with.
Bretons start with bonuses to many magic skills making them a good starting race for magic casters. Conjure Familiar will also give casters a summoned wolf that they can use in battle to help attack and defend them as they cast spells. With the +10 to conjuration that Bretons as well as the Conjure Familiar spell that they start with, Bretons can make a good starting class for players looking to explore Conjuration allowing for powerful summoned allies and raising of the dead to assist you in battle.
Skyrim Breton Notes, Tips, & Trivia
- Breton can achieve maximum passive Magic Resistance of 85% by having Agent of Mara, the Alteration perk Magic Resistance, and The Lord Stone, which is 15% more than all other races.
- Activating Dragonskin and having the Atronach Stone can reach 100% Spell Absorption.
- Court Wizards are usually Bretons. Also, many members of the College of Winterhold are Bretons
