Black Heart Blight is a Disease in Skyrim. The reduction in carry weight can put a player over their carry capacity limiting their movement. Players can drink potions to add carrying capacity to counteract the effects or otherwise use methods to circumvent being over-encumbered before getting cured. Diseases in Skyrim refer to the status ailments that players can contract from the world. Being infected by Diseases weakens specific skills or attributes of the player. A Disease effect will remain active until it is cured. Players can check their magic menu to look for active effects that will show diseases that are actively affecting them.
