Sets in Skyrim Special Edition refer to complete sets of Armor that include a matching piece of Headgear, Cuirass, Gauntlets and Boots. There are multiple ways to obtain armor sets, crafting them yourself, getting mob drops, as part of quests or in locations around the world. Crafting armor sets will require levels of Smithing, the unlocked perks as well as the materials required for each piece.
A few rare sets of armor also grant Armor Abilities when the full set is worn. Wearing a full set of armor will also allow you to benefit from perks in Heavy Armor Abilities or Light Armor Abilities if the perk is unlocked for the respective armor type. In Skyrim a matched set of armor is when all pieces of armor are made from the same material.
