Masque of Clavicus Vile is one of the Daedric Artifacts in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Daedric Artifacts are special, powerful items created by the Daedric Princes and given to mortals in exchange for their services or for completing favors. Each artifact is attributed to a specific Prince and is imbued with their power, providing unique combat and magical benefits to their users. Daedric Artifacts fall under three categories: Weapons, Apparel and Other Items. In order to obtain these artifacts, the Dragonborn must undertake special Daedric Quests and gain the favor of the associated Daedric Prince.

Masque of Clavicus Vile is a Daedric Artifact attributed to Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile.

It is a highly stylized Heavy Armor of the Headgear class. This silver and black mask covers the face entirely, is adorned with two large, curved horns and depicts a male visage with lots of swirly patterns.

The Masque has very little practical battle application but its high defense as a Heavy Armor piece may be useful for lower level players, especially since the associated quest is relatively simple and can be acquired as early as level 10.

How to obtain the Masque of Clavicus Vile Daedric Artifact in Skyrim

Masque of Clavicus Vile can be obtained as follows:

• Complete the quest "A Daedra's Best Friend". This quest can be acquired starting from Level 10, where a guard from Falkreath will mention something about a dog.
• Note that in order to receive the Masque, you must return the Rueful Axe to the shrine of Clavicus Vile and choose not to kill Barbas. Killing Barbas will instead reward you with the Rueful Axe, which is not a Daedric Artifact, an important consideration when going for the Oblivion Walker achievement.
